Jerry Ray Trammell
Jerry Ray Trammell of Middleburg, Florida passed away on January 20, 2022, at the age of 75.
Born in McAlester, Oklahoma on January 2, 1947. He was a proud, enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Opal Trammell (Cunningham), and his sister, Wokeeta (Fuzzy) Hahn.
He attended Will Rodgers High School in McAlester, Oklahoma and at the age of 17 decided to leave school to enlist in the Marine Corps. Jerry served four years active and 2 years reserve in the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. While in the Marine Corps, he won the Golden Gloves Boxing Champion while still a private first class. He would eventually go on to be awarded the trophy in the heavyweight division on January 28, 1966. He would also later get his GED.
Being an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, drive 4 wheelers and racecars. He was also an expert rifleman and did his own reloading to ensure accuracy.
Jerry became the State of Oklahoma archery champion, three years in a row.
He was the president of Trammell Concrete Construction. Major construction projects included the Jacksonville Riverwalk, the runways at Jacksonville Naval Air Station and numerous Department of Transportation projects. He always loved to point out all the sidewalks around the Jacksonville area that he had worked on.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary Ann (Hayden) Trammell; daughters, Chevelle Crusan, Christen, and Nikki Trammell and son, Joe Trammell; stepchildren, Anne-Marie Stockton (Chris), Linda Fasano Martin (Joel) and John Fasano (Laurie). There are also 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He adored and loved them all. He is also survived by a sister, Wynema Lovell (Max) of Green Cove Springs, Fl and brother Kenny Trammell (Ida) of Pahrump, NV; brother in laws; Emmett Hahn and William Hayden and sister-in-law, Linda Hayden.
There will be no formal funeral service. His ashes will be interred at a later date in the Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors.

Hazel Wainwright Ryan
Hazel Wainwright Ryan, age 92, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, in Fleming Island, Florida. Hazel was born to Leila Irene Moody and Newnan Crews Wainwright on May 30, 1929, in Penny Farms, Florida.
Hazel graduated from Clay High School in Green Cove Springs, Florida, and was married to Rev. Thomas D. Ryan, Jr. She continued to be very active in the Methodist Church after his passing. Hazel was a member of the Green Cove Springs United Methodist Church.
Hazel was very active in the Clay County Historical Society and the Red Hat Society. Through her many endeavors with her husband, they founded the Methodist Church of Orange Park, Wesley Manor Retirement Center in Mandarin, and the Lake Asbury Community -- all to secure a 100-acre retreat for the Methodist Church. She is fondly known as the “Mother of Lake Asbury.” Hazel will be remembered most for her generous and loving spirit as well as her great sense of humor. Live, Love, Laugh was her mantra.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Ryan, Jr. Surviving family includes daughter Peggy Ryan Brown of Ridgeland, MS, sons Thomas D. Ryan, III (Nancy) of Green Cove Springs, FL, Zac E. W. Ryan (Jeannie) of Green Cove Springs, FL and James M. Ryan (Angela) of Lake Asbury, FL. Her grandchildren include Ryan Brown of Olive Branch, MS, Cori Brown Cater of Starkville, MS, Jesse Ryan of Green Cove Springs, FL, Carly Ryan Roberts of Green Cove Springs, FL, Luke Ryan of Green Cove Springs, FL), Libby Ryan of Tacoma, WA, T.J. Ryan of Green Cove Springs, FL, Tripp Ryan of Michigan, Kelsey Ryan of Memphis, TN, Jessica Ryan Willis of Fleming Island, FL and Alyx Ryan of San Francisco, CA. She also has eight great, grandchildren and surviving brothers Maxie Wainwright (Nora Lee) of Lake City, FL, and Grady Wainwright of St. Augustine, FL.
A Celebration of Life, Love, and Laughter will be held at the Green Cove Springs First United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. Reverend David Jackson will be presiding.
