Richard Timothy “Tim” Morgan
Richard Timothy “Tim” Morgan, 69, Middleburg, FL, passed away February 14, 2022. He was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up on the Westside of Jacksonville and in Orange Park, graduating from Orange Park High School in 1970.
He is predeceased by his father, Richard F. Morgan and his brother Mike Morgan. He is survived by his loving mother Eula Morgan, sisters Rebecca Morgan and Karen Ellison along with nephews Frank Robson (Anita), Donald Ellison (Tatum) and Skyler Morgan, great niece Liddia Robson and great nephews Brady and Erik Ellison and Karter Morgan.
Tim was a welder and carpenter, equally at home in the Carolinas or the Florida Keys. He spent the last several years in Middleburg caring for his parents. Whether growing a bumper crop of butternut squash on a rocky mountainside in Western North Carolina or harvesting lobsters in Big Pine Key, Tim whistled while he worked and savored the celebration of a job well done. Tim’s greatest passion was his love of music and his collection of vintage guitars.
Tim treasured his lifelong friends and will be sorely missed by them and his grieving family and neighbors. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Tim’s honor to the American Cancer Society or Haven Hospice.

Gannon Michael Deshong
Gannon Michael Deshong (32), Died unexpectedly on February 26, 2022. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and was a resident of Middleburg, Florida. He is survived by his father Richard DeShong and his wife Michelle, his mother Sheila Garlington and her husband Jim, two sisters, Tarah Klein and her husband Colin, and Jennifer Gallina and her husband John, nieces Maci and Gwendolyn, girlfriend, Katie Fausey and her son Gabe and a wealth of friends. He attended Fleming Island High School, class of 2008.
He was a rare and beautiful soul, whose only mission in life was to love and make those around him happy. We regretfully, send this angel home, as he successfully accomplished his goal. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Viewing is Saturday, March 5 at 2 pm with funeral services following at 3 pm at Aaron & Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park 32073.

Josephine Ann Breitwieser
Josephine Ann Breitwieser passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022, in Fleming Island Florida. Jo was born September 11, 1926, in Du Quoin, Illinois, to Joseph and Dominica Cicardo, both from Sicily. She was the youngest of 8 children, and her father died when she was 10.
Jo joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps and received her RN at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis. She met her beloved husband Bob on a blind date and they married in 1949. After Bob received his engineering degree, they moved to Denver and raised 3 children. The family traveled all over the west in a Winnebago, fishing, and sightseeing. Over the years, they moved and were residing in Pittsburg, Kansas when Bob died at age 55. Jo worked as a school nurse, then an Operating Room Nurse, and continued her volunteer work as County Chairman of the American Cancer Society and President of the Association of Operating Room Nurses for Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. She received the Spirit Of Mt. Carmel Award, for her dedication and support of t. Carmel’s Medical Center’s mission.
Retiring from nursing, Jo moved to Virginia Beach to be closer to her daughter. She became an active volunteer for Lee’s friends, a cancer support group, the Red Cross, and Operation Smile, a non-profit organization operating on children with cleft lips and facial deformities. In charge of medical records, Jo traveled on 45 mission trips around the world including the Philippines, Vietnam, Russia, Ghana, Israel, China, Jordan, Jerusalem, Kenya, and Columbia. During her travels, she rode an elephant, a camel, went on a safari, and enjoyed the world! Jo’s service and dedication led to many awards: Operation Smile Volunteer Award, Women In Transition YMCA Award, the J.C.Penney Golden Rule Award, Domino’s Pizza Unsung Hero Award, the Jefferson Award from the American Institute for Public Service, and the Hooray for You Lee’s Friends Award.
Jo moved to Orange Park in 2001 to spend time with her family. She was a member of Orange Park Methodist Church and PEO for many years. Jo loved to read, and was an avid bridge player; making many wonderful friends. Jo became involved with the Shepherd’s Center, an organization for seniors, implementing an Annual Health Fair, arranging flu shots, and serving on their board. She helped with Seniors on a Mission, was a volunteer for hospice, and volunteered over 2500 hours at Orange Park Medical Center, working in day surgery, and calling bingo for the Behavioral Unit. Jo received the Golden Gala Award Service Award from the Shepherd’s Center and The Humanitarian Award from Orange Park Medical Hospital. She was a wonderful cook and her famous pasta, apple pies, and cinnamon rolls were always requested. She was a devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and siblings.
Her survivors include her son, Bob(Linda) Breitwieser; her daughter, Sue Wetzel; grandchildren, Matt (Sarah) Wetzel, Eric (Maddy) Wetzel, Julie (Jon) Wilson, 9 great-grandchildren and close nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration Of Life will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Orange Park United Methodist Church, 2051 Park Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073. A luncheon will be held following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Community Hospice of North Florida, Operation Smile Orange Park United Methodist Church or to a or a charity of your choice.

Lester Budz, 94, of Orange Park, FL passed away February 28, 2022.

John William Moheng, Jr.
John William Moheng, Jr., passed from this earth on February 23, 2022, after being hospitalized with complications from the Covid-19 virus.
John was born on February 1, 1957 in Chicago, IL, was a life-long resident of Florida and of Middleburg for the last 37 years.
Affectionately known to his friends as “Craneman”, John was a hardworking and dedicated family man. John loved his job operating cranes, loved horses and would rather go fishing than eat.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Gloria (Davis) Moheng, three children, John William Moheng, III, Michael Paul Moheng (Candice), Ripley Shamus Moheng, and 7 grandchildren. John was also survived by his mother, Juanita Snyder, a sister, Debbie Atkinson, and numerous extended family and friends in Florida and Missouri.
He was predeceased by his father, John William Moheng, Sr., his brothers David Moheng and Scott Moheng, and a son who died at birth.
John left us too soon, but we are comforted to know that he has “gone fishing” with our Lord and Savior.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 12, 2022 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Ken Webb officiating.

Mildred Carithers Bergh
BERGH—Mildred Carithers Bergh, age 99, passed away on February 21, 2022. She was born in Comer, Georgia, to Allen Candler Carithers and Ora Key Carithers on September 6, 1922. After attending the University of Georgia and Johns Hopkins University, she and her husband moved first to Pensacola, Florida and then to Orange Park, Florida, where they lived for thirteen years. In the early sixties, she moved away from Orange Park and eventually settled in Athens, Georgia, nearer her roots and the University of Georgia, where she raised and educated her six children as a single mom.
After the last of her children were educated, Mrs. Bergh went to work for Athens Regional Hospital as a secretary in the operating room. Affectionately known as “Mom” by her coworkers, she developed friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Mrs. Bergh was a wonderful mother. Her children’s friends gravitated to the warmth, humor and good food that could always be found at the Bergh house. She instilled in all her children a profound sense of honor, morality, and courage both through her words and through her example.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Kathleen Harper, Ida Merla Westbrook, and Wylleen Dickerson and a son (Allen) and grandson (Cliff). She is survived by her children: Barbara Adams (Gene) of Overland Park, Kansas; Marcus Bergh (Olivia) of Brentwood, Tennessee; John Bergh of Richmond, Texas; Donna Rissman (Steve) of Windermere, Florida; Susan Barrett (John) of Athens, Georgia; and Pam Woodruff (Jack) of Jupiter, Florida. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is planned for this summer.
