Peter Della Penna (Poppie)
Peter Della Penna (Poppie), 83, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020.
He was born in Batavia, NY on November 5, 1936. His parents were Salvatore and Angelina Della Penna.
Poppie graduated from Batavia High School and served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged. He owned and operated PIZZA KING in Green Cove Springs for 35 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved collectibles, the Tampa Bay Rays and he loved spending time with his family in Biloxi, MS playing video poker. He will always be remembered as Our “POPPIE”!!
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, his son Daniel and his grandson Daniel.
He is survived by his wife Eileen Heist Della Penna married 58 years; his son, Michael J. Della Penna and wife Berni of Tuscaloosa, AL; daughter, Lynn Marcum and husband Terry of Green Cove Springs, FL; son, Peter Della Penna, Jr. and wife Mary of Green Cove Springs, FL; five grandchildren, one grandson-in-law and six great-grandchildren.
We are sorry but due to the Corona Virus there will be no viewing or public service. We just ask for your thoughts and prayers at this time.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Judes Hospital.

Todd Michael Andrew Huckins
Todd Michael Andrew Huckins, 43 of Middleburg, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020.
Mr. Huckins was born July 24, 1976 in Galveston, Texas to parents Gary and Donna (Huckins) Hitchcock.
Todd was an extremely smart person and could talk about anything. In his free time, he enjoyed throwing knives, reading Stephen King books, and playing video games with his son, Erik. He will be remembered for having the biggest heart and being such a caring person.
Survivors are his 15 year old son, Erik Huckins of Fernandina Beach; parents, Gary and Donna Hitchcock of Middleburg; sister, Tracy Knott (Steven) of Middleburg; stepfather, John Steffes; half brother, Steve Huckins; nephews, William and Ashton Knott of Middleburg and Rhys Huckins; foreign exchange student sister, Anna Maria De Haan of Holland and his childhood sweetheart and lifelong friend, Loralee Small.

Alvin “Boss” Calley

Alvin “Boss” Calley, 63 years of age, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Orange Park Medical Center after a brief illness and complications with the Corona Virus.
Boss was born November 8, 1956 to the late Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Calley in Jacksonville, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs, and graduated class of 1974 at Clay County High School. He worked many jobs, including: North Florida Shipyard, Jaguar Concrete Inc., but his favorite job was lawn care.
Boss loved going hunting and fishing with his brothers, and most of all he loved anyone to take him to eat seafood, and it would be even better if they would pay for it.
Boss was a member of First Coast Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL and he loved everybody. His family would always say, “You know everybody.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Willie and Raymond Calley; sister, Diane Kiedreowski; nephew, Bo Alba; twin infant nephews and an infant niece.
Left to cherish his memory are brothers, Robert and Pete Calley (Becky); sister, Barbara Wollitz (Nick); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also cherishing his memory will be close friends, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Farley of Green Cove Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Dew, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Menard, Mrs. Dennis Chapman, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Nixon and Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Conklin and many folks in the Victory Class at his Church.
Bossy loved everybody. That is why he will be missed by everybody. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
His family wants to thank Governors Creek Health Rehab and Nursing Home in Green Cove Springs.
Thank you for all the care you gave him the three years he had stayed there.

Coach Arthur Lawton “Buster” Harvey
Coach Arthur Lawton “Buster” Harvey, 64, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness.
The son of Lawton Arthur Harvey and Thelma Lucille (Ellis) Harvey, “Buster” was born on Wednesday, April 18, 1956 in Jacksonville.
He was educated in the Duval County School district. In 1974, he graduated from Forrest High School, Jacksonville; in 1976, he earned an Associate’s degree from Florida Junior College; in 1978, he earned a Bachelor’s degree Erskine College; and in 1979 he earned a Master’s degree from the University of North Florida.
“Buster” was of the Baptist faith. He had a distinguished 33-year basketball coaching career commencing in 1980 as an assistant coach under Lyndle McCurley at Florida State Community College of Jacksonville (FSCJ) before taking over as head coach in 1983-84.
Harvey recruited hundreds of players from mostly Northeast Florida to play for him in coaching stops at FSCJ (11 seasons), Edward Waters (seven seasons), St. Johns River State College (seven seasons) and at Jacksonville University, where he served as an assistant for two years and then interim coach in 1996-97. In 2012, his career ended when SJRSC dropped its basketball program. He finished with a record of 517-324 (.615). Harvey twice led FSCJ to state championship game appearances and was elected into the Florida Junior College Hall of Fame in 1996.
He will be fondly remembered as a fiery, meticulous, fair-minded, compassionate coach who genuinely touched the lives of countless young people in his community. “Buster” never wavered about going to the toughest neighborhoods to find and recruit kids who would become the best players on his teams. He genuinely cared about them and always focused on each individual’s total well-being. He also taught the youth with the upward basketball program and faithfully participated in AAU Basketball.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Jennifer Ruth Harvey; daughter, Kimberly Lynne Harvey; step-son, Christopher Charles Rutherford; brother, Richard (Teresa) Harvey; sisters, Tina Raulerson, Kathy (Buddy) Harvey Dux, Jane (Ronnie) Harvey Robinson, Dayle (Phillip) Harvey McLaughlin, Gayle (Ricky) Harvey Dingle; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the Governor’s executive stay-at-home order, the Harvey family conducted a drive-thru processional tribute with a private family memorial at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Boulevard, Orange Park.
