In Memoriam
Memorial for David George Busse
May 19, 1936-July 3, 2018

David George Busse
David George Busse, 82, passed away on July 3, 2018, in Orange Park, Florida. He is interred with his wife, Roswitha Susanna Busse (Rosi) who passed away in Tallahassee, Florida on November 17, 2020. They were married for 60 years and will now be able to spend the rest of time together in the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.
David was born May 19, 1936, in Waynesburg, Kentucky. He was a retired US Air Force Captain. He attended the University of Colorado, graduating in 1965. Rosi always said she worked to put 4 persons through college-her three children and David! David, fluent in German, met Rosi in Trier, Germany, where they were married in 1958. They had three children-Yvonne (Max), Kenneth (Lynn), and Michelle (Mike).
David is survived by his brother Roger Busse and sister Teresa Bellville, five grandchildren (Christina, Eric, Sarah, Stephanie, and Emily), and born since his death, 2 great-grandchildren Cecil and Westley, all of whom miss him.
David enjoyed working on genealogy before there were on-line resources, contacting relatives in Switzerland and throughout the US by phone or letter for information on the various family trees. David and Rosi enjoyed visiting with their grandchildren, and even had the pleasure of babysitting Michelle’s children often when they lived nearby.
There were times David had a large garden, paying tribute to his farming background. He brought his children to the family farm in Kentucky for weeks at a time during moves for the Air Force; the kids were able to experience the farm life with the grandparents and eat a lot of blackberries.
David and Rosi are missed greatly by their family, and will always be remembered.
