Trena Tuten

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Trena Tuten, 74, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to all those whose lives she touched.  She left us on April 27, 2019, while sleeping peacefully at the beautiful Community Hospice facility in Jacksonville, Florida.  She was 74 years old.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband Jimmy; sisters, Patty, and Myrtle; father and mother, Herschel and Lillian. Trena is survived by her sisters, Vicky, Libby, and Bobbie; brother, Teddy; her son, Danny, his wife Jackie and her only grandchild, Lily. Trena would’ve wanted a special thank you for her niece Dinah, whose help during her last years cannot be overstated.
Trena lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker, who loved playing music as much as she loved listening to it. She also loved dances of all kinds, from cutting up a rug with Jimmy to seeing her granddaughter perform ballet onstage. She told tales of making tea with pecan leaves while a little girl in Georgia, and spending time at her aunt’s drug store in Jacksonville, where she’d stop by for a soda after school. She had a passion for antiques, and loved to decorate, her Christmas trees were works of art. She enjoyed giving, whether it was a special gift for her granddaughter or offering a home to a stray kitten. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in them a love for embracing the small things in life, like one of her favorite pastimes, enjoying her beautiful roses. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A private celebration of Trena’s life was held by her family.  We ask if you would like to honor her, please send a donation to the Alzheimer Foundation or Community Hospice.
