Rev. Samuel Harrison Jewell
Rev. Samuel Harrison Jewell, 70, was ushered into the presence of his Savior on June 24, 2019 at 2:14 am.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1948 in Matheny, West Virginia to the late Vermin Jesse and Margaret Sanders Jewell. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Paul David Jewell. Pastor Sam loved teaching the Bible and sharing the love of his Savior with all those he met. He was known for his kindness, his selfless nature, and his sense of humor.
Over his lifetime, he pastored churches in South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, and Florida, touching the lives of thousands of people whose paths he crossed. Sam enjoyed playing his guitar, learning about American History, singing with his family, fishing with his grandkids, golfing with his son, cheering for Duke basketball and Gator football, and drinking Diet Coke.
A Homegoing Celebration was held Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Harbor Baptist Church in Fleming Island, Fla.. Pastor Sam is survived by his adoring and faithful wife of almost 49 years, Patsy Madaris Jewell; his children, Kristin Cartwright (Tom) of Ocoee, Fla. Kara Matthews (Mark) of Plano, TX, and Philip Jewell (Cara) of Mobile, Ala.; his daughter-in-law, Marlissa Jewell Dublin (Timothy Paul); and his grandchildren, Kaiya Matthews, Juke Matthews, Cade Paul Matthews, Kolby Cartwright, Kaleb Cartwright, Acie Jewell, Brayleigh Matthews, and Isaac Jewell.

Craig A. Krasko

Craig A. Krasko, 66, passed away on June 19, 2019. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and resided in Middleburg, Fla. Krasko retired from the US Navy and is survived by his wife, Maxima Krasko; father, Raymond L. Krasko; son, Edwardo Krasko; daughter, Jessica (Sabih) Effendi; sister, Candice Poole; 2 grandchildren: Julien and Ayden Effendi; nephew, Donnie Cleveland; niece, Deanna Montalbano; and a host of extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Hardage Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Rd, Middleburg, Fla.
Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1606 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, Fla. with Father Andy Blaszkowski officiating.

John Boyd Brugh
John Boyd Brugh, age 68, our loving brother, husband, dad, pop-pop, uncle, brother-in-law and friend went to be with his Lord on July 7, 2019. He was simply a great man. He had the biggest most generous heart and it brought him great joy to help others, never wanting anything in return. He loved all his family deeply and always looked forward to times when the family would all get together. He had tremendous patience and a gift for encouraging others. We were blessed to have him in our lives and will miss him deeply.
He retired from the US Air Force after serving 21 years working as a K9 police officer. He also retired from the post office after 23 years working as a dock clerk.
He was a Master Mason, Member of the Order of Eastern Star and a Shriner. He grew up in The Otis Road Church of God.
John was born on April 18, 1951 in Rocklick, WV to parents Ethel Estelle (Higginbotham) and the late Cary Houston Brugh. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Brugh, of 22 years that he loved deeply, sons that he adored; John R. (Chrissy), Shawn (Gina), grandchildren that he cherished; Dustie and Ashlynn Brugh, Sarah Miller, Noah, Mackenzie, and Riley Brugh, Brothers he respected; Ronnie (Rheba), Larry (Teresa), Sisters he treasured; Lillie Irizarry (Moi), Barbara Nickens (Richard), Karen Brugh and his second mother Lucille Crews whom he always took care of.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fla. 32221 with Pastor Steve Thomas officiating with US Air Force Honors.
Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
