 Robert A. “Bobby” Conner
Robert A. “Bobby” Conner, 53, of Palatka passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka following a brief illness.  
 Robert was born in Kingsville, Texas and had been a longtime resident of Palatka, coming from Green Cove Springs.  
He was an employee of Seminole Electric in Palatka where he had worked for the past 20 years, working as a millwright. He was a member of the Utility Workers Union of America, Local 551, serving as the local treasurer. He was a member of Pineland Lodge #86, Free and Accepted Masons in Palatka, where he served as chaplain. He enjoyed trying different kinds of beers and also brewing beer. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Surviving are his wife, Pamela Conner of Palatka; his parents, Dolly and Harry Conner of Green Cove Springs; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Stephanie Conner of Green Cove Springs; a step-daughter, Ashley Ward of Green Cove Springs; two grandchildren, Reagan Scott and Kaitlynn Ward; and a niece Bailey Conner.  His funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 10 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Dr. L.D. Osteen officiating. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Pineland Lodge #86, F&AM will conduct Masonic Rites.  Memorial gifts may be sent to the Masonic Retirement Home, 3201 1st Street NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Donald Dapra, Sr.
Donald Dapra, Sr. (85) of Orange Park, FL passed away at home on July 30 with his three children by his side. He was born on October 14th, 1935, in Pittsburgh, PA to Casimir and Christina (Freliche) Dapra. He grew up in Universal and graduated from Penn High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy beginning his 26-year career and retiring in 1979 as a Master Chief.
During his military career he proudly served aboard both the USS Randolph and the USS Forrestal. While serving on the USS Forrestal he received the designation of Launching Officer, a qualification normally reserved only for commissioned officers. He was one of only three enlisted men in the Navy at that time qualified with this designation. His service also included time spent in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Prior to his retirement he was asked to serve as MCPON (Master Chief of the Navy) to which he declined in order to move his family to Florida, where he eventually retired.
Being from Pittsburgh, he was an avid Steelers fan. He shared his passion for the sport and the team with his children and grandchildren every chance he had. If he wasn’t watching football, you would probably find him tuned into the SyFy Channel. Don is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Carolyn “Kay” Hultz Dapra of 62 years.
Don is survived by his children: Don Dapra, Jr. (Lynda), Tina Hodges (Ron) and Denese Lee; Grandchildren: Kevin, Matt, Brandi and Cody; Great-grandchildren: Cole, Caysen, Caleb and Coral; Brother, Casimir “Cashie” Dapra; Sister, Carol Reynolds (Harold) and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 10 am - 11am, Saturday, August 14, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services to begin at 11:00 am.

Clifford Solee Hendricks
Clifford Solee Hendricks, 90, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away August 8, 2021. He was born on March 8, 1931 in Green Cove Springs, FL to parents Frank Solee Hendricks and Nellie Roberts Hendricks.
He served in the United States Army from June 7, 1948 to July 2, 1952 and was a Private First Class. He was stationed in both France and Germany as a cook.
His interests and hobbies were fishing, vegetables, gardening, going to church, reading the bible, spending time with family and going to family reunions.
Mr. Hendricks was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Solee Hendricks and Nellie Roberts Hendricks; 2 brothers, Sidney Hendricks and Leon Hendricks and 2 sisters, Thelma Hiles and Margaret Givens Elgin.
Survivors include his brother, Edward Hendricks; sister, Ruby Jones; sister-in-law, Barbara Hendricks and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, August 12, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, August 13, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Henry Givens officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Shirley Jean Meredith
Shirley Jean Meredith, age 65, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was at home surrounded by her husband and family. Shirley was married to her husband, Chester for forty-four years. They had two children, Joseph and Patricia, as well as a son-in-law, John. Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren, Britney, Elijah, and Kiley. She also adored her great-granddaughter, Oaklyn. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. Shirley was a wonderful elderly caretaker for many years.
