LCDR Donald Franklin Martin
In Memoriam: LCDR Donald Franklin Martin, (Ret.), age 100, passed away peacefully on 14 Oct 2021, Fleming Island, Florida. Don, as his friends and family knew him, was born in Queens, New York 10 April 1921. Don was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margit, his children Cynthia, (spouse Jeff) and MSgt Christopher “Ace”, USMC (Ret.), (spouse Rebecca), four grandchildren, Fallon, Christopher, Angela, and Jeremy, and eleven great grandchildren. Don was a devoted husband and family man. With his wry sense of humor and quick Yankee wit, Don was ever the life of the party and a liberal host. He was ready to bestow a Herculean handshake on the gents and a courteous greeting to the ladies.
Don spent his boyhood in New York City with his parents, brother and sister. He graduated from the Manhattan School of Aviation Trades. His naval service began in July 1940 as an Apprentice Seaman at the Naval Air Reserve Base, New York and subsequently he received his commission as Ensign and designation as Naval Aviator on 22 December 1943. Don served tours of sea or foreign duty with Patrol Bombing Squadron 198; Patrol Bombing Squadron 200; Patrol Bombing Squadron 133; Air Development Squadron l; Aircraft Ferry Squadron 31; Fleet Aircraft Service Squadron 107; Naval station, Kwajalein; Naval Air Station, Atsugi, Japan; Staff Commander Middle East Force; and Naval Air Facility, Naples, Italy. His last posting was as the personal pilot of an Admiral in the European Theater. During his distinguished 31-year long career as a Naval Aviator, he flew upwards of 10,000 hours in over 85 air craft. Don was also a member of the Silver Eagle Association.
Don was awarded the Air Medal; Good Conduct Medal (4th Award); American Defense Service Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal; American Campaign Medal; World War Il Victory Medal; and National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award).
Don pulled chocks and made his last flight with the angels in the company of family and friends. Fair winds and following seas, Don. Rest in Peace.

Julian Irvin Goodrich
Julian Irvin Goodrich, 88, of Green Cove Springs, passed away on November 3, 2021. Irvin was born August 30, 1933 in Green Cove Springs, Florida
Irvin was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and had a strong Christian faith. He was a life-long member of The First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs, where he served as an Elder and as a member of the building committee. He also served as the Construction Manager for the church’s current Multi-Purpose Building.
After graduating from Clay High School, he attended the University of Florida and Georgia Institute of Technology, where he studied Engineering and Construction, and loved frequenting The Varsity. He admirably served in the U.S. Navy’s Construction Battalion, better known as the “SeaBees” and worked on various military projects in the Caribbean. That experience inspired him to begin his career as a Building Contractor. Irvin built many iconic structures in North Florida including the Jacksonville Amtrak terminal, Lakeside Elementary School, hangars at the Kennedy Space Center, artillery training ranges, many local car dealerships, as well as a few custom homes. He was also involved in the construction of the Veterans Memorial Arena, and the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. His favorite place to be was working on his job-sites and he considered his co-workers to be family.
Irvin always looked forward to cheering on his beloved Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their sports and school activities. Irvin loved animals and never turned away a stray. He loved learning and teaching others, and wanted to help everyone. Irvin loved his wife, Joyce, of 62 years most of all.
Irvin is survived by his sister, Bernice Colley of Phenix City, AL; children, Leslie Shepherd (James) of Fort Myers, FL, George Goodrich (Susan) of Green Cove Springs, FL and Carrie Dugan (Derek) of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Andrew and Brandon (Leslie); Kara, Jamis, and Angela (George); Jacalyn and Dominic (Carrie); and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Joyce Goodrich; parents, Julian Steele Goodrich and Lucy Cadwell Goodrich; and sister Katherine Goodrich.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, at Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home in Green Cove Springs. Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs at 11a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 with Reverend Susan Takis officiating. A procession and internment will follow at Springbank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs, Florida.

Arthur George Liebler, Jr.
Arthur George Liebler, Jr. was born on April 10, 1948 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to parents Arthur George Liebler, Sr. and Carol Fairy Pomel. Arthur lived a full life and left a profound impact on countless lives. He honorably served in the United States Navy for over twenty years as an electrical technician. When Arthur retired from the military, he earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Jacksonville University. He continued to serve his community by making a difference in the lives of local children as a passionate elementary school teacher in Clay County for over twenty years. Arthur married the love of his life, Patty Vaughn Liebler, on September 11, 1982 and the couple was blessed with their son Randy Arthur Liebler on June 2, 1983. Patty and Arthur were married for 39 loving years. Arthur battled cancer for several years, before moving on to a higher form of service on October 17, 2021. He was a devoted husband, a caring father, a loving grandfather, and a blessing to all who he encountered. He will be missed dearly. Arthur is succeeded by his three sisters Laurie Liebler Ross, Ann Liebler Muldowney, Linda Liebler Sexton, his adoring son Randy Liebler, and his adorable grandson Parker James Liebler. Arthur George Liebler, Jr. will be laid to rest at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
