OPHS Sabino 15 rebounds, five assists for Broncbusters

Former Orange Park High basketball standout Josiah Sabino is putting up numbers like his Raiders day only now at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas.
Sabino, a sophomore transfer to Garden City out of Jacksonville University, recently cashed in with a 17 point effort with 15 rebounds and five assists in the Broncobusters January 25 98-85 loss to Barton Community College. Garden City fell to 11-9 while Barton improved to 16-4 and snapped a four game win streak by Garden City.
According to a game report, with the game tied at 79-79, with four minutes left on the clock, a series of three points shots and a dunk put Barton up 91-81 in less than two minutes.
Garden City had led 27-17 into the second quarter, but Barton answered with a 12-2 run to tie the game at 29-29.
Sabino has played in all 20 games with a 26.3 minutes per game average and an 11.9 points per game average.
Sabino has high games of 23 and 24 points for the season against Fort Hays Tech Northwest in November and 24 points against Independence Community College in December.
Lately, in January, Sabino has hit double figures in games from December 11 through January 15 for eight games.
