ORANGE PARK - Ridgeview High's girls track team, led by sprinter Oja Riggs' wins in the 100 and 200 dashes, got big team numbers in their first home meet of the year with a 217.50 point total taking the team title at the Panther Invitational on Thursday, March 6 at Ridgeview High School.

In second for the girls was Middleburg with 121 points with Orange Park third at 82.
For the boys, Trinity Christian Academy won in a close battle with Middleburg, 148-143, with Ridgeview third at 102.
Highlights for the Panther girls included the Lady Panthers 4 x 800 meter squad; Emily Silva, Rae Burnett, Juni Weibelt and Danna Beltram, beating Middleburg by 11 seconds in 11:44.69; Oja Riggs winning the 100 meter dash over Middleburg's Mika Wesley, 12.46-12.71; Adan Benda winning the 400 hurdles in 1:11.79; double double points with a 1-2 finish in long jump and triple jump from Ann-gellica Taravine and Carissa Young; a triple points finish, 1-2-3, in shot put from Brooke Cameron, Rhe'a Wright and Naviah Mincey, and Brooke Cameron winning the javelin.
Middleburg's boys got team points with wins from Adam Ruoss in the 3200 with teammates Daniel Johnson and Isaac Shaw in second and third with Ruoss and Johnson finished second and fourth in the 1600; Ronnell Seward-Smith in the discus, and a 1-2 finish in javelin from Carson Stewart and Mason Zwilling.

Flagler Track (North Florida/South Florids Challenge)
March 8

At Flagler Palm Coast High School, Fleming Island's girls and boys track teams ventured into top tier challenges with the likes of Miami Columbus, Belen Jesuit Prep, Miami Northwestern and Tallahassee Lincoln and finished with the girls fifth and the boys sixth.
Miami Columbus was boys champion 124-121 over Lincoln while Miami Northwestern dominated the girls with a 227.50 point total to runnerup Ponte Vedra's 88 points.
Top finishes came from Jarius Rodgers winning the high jump in 6'-1.5" with a second by .01 second in 110 high hurdles 14.73 seconds; Mikayla Shavers, state runnerup last two years, winning the long jump (17'-2.25")and triple jumps (39'-1.75"); boys 4x800 third in 8:04.77 with girls fourth; Brooke Reynolds third in 1600 in 5:16.01/second in 800 in 2:24.20; Avery Savage in 400 hurdles, third by .17 in 57.68 and Andrew Boyer in 800 in 1:59.49.

Danny Brown Invite (Bishop Snyder February 22)

Oakleaf High's boys track team opened their season at the Danny Byron Invite on February 22 at Bishop Snyder with a second place finish to Raines by just 10 points; 136-126, led by win in long jump by Devin Collins in 22'-2.5" and 100 meter dash in 10.85 seconds with teammates Malachi Warthen, Jordin Price and Fareed Coleman in third, sixth and ninth; a javelin win from Emmett Egger with a 150'-2" toss; Kharmari Harewood in triple jump in 38'-5"; a win in the 4 x 100 relay in 43.26 and a second in the 4 x 400 relay.
Oakleaf's girls finished fourth behind Bishop Kenny, Creekside and Bartram Trail.
