Orange Park man charged with 10 counts of child porn

JACKSONVILLE – A local man was arrest at NAS Jacksonville on Jan. 28 after a Special Agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service found files of children having sex on his computer.
Kelly Eugene Squire, 37, of Orange Park, was charged with 10 counts of possessing images of children having sex. According to the arrest report, at least one of the children was 5 or younger.
According to the arrest warrant, Squire had the username “JustWantFun” when he collected the images of children having sex.
The images were collected between Jan. 1, 2020, and Aug. 21, according to the arrest report after an FBI undercover agent posed as a 14-year-old girl on the internet. Agents conducted a search of Squire’s home on Nov. 6. A forensic investigation uncovered both photographs and videos and his hard drives.
Squire’s bond was set at $500,003.

Man arrested following 2017 deadly crash with train

JACKSONVILLE – A Jacksonville man was arrested on Jan. 28 more than three years after investigators said a passenger in his truck was killed by a train when he tried to drive around the railroad crossing barriers.
Richard DeWitt Tillman, 45, was charged with negligent vehicular homicide/manslaughter and driving with a suspended license with a crash that caused death, after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office tracked him down to a house on Collins Road more than seven months after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Investigators said Tillman was driving a red pickup truck with a suspended license on Aug. 17, 2017, when he drove around the barriers at a railroad crossing on Cooks Lane in Green Cove Springs. The truck was hit in the passenger side by an Amtrak train with 218 people aboard. His passenger, Caleb Ralph Osborne, 38, died at the scene.
Tillman was taken to Orange Park Medical Center in critical condition, but he was released following his recovery.
Tillman’s bond was set at $105,006.

Expired tag leads to arrest for meth, controlled substances

MIDDLEBURG – A traffic stop for an expired tag led to the arrest of a Jacksonville man for possessing methamphetamine and four other controlled substances on Jan. 28.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said one of its deputies noticed a car on County Road 218 near Bluejay Drive with an expired tag. A check of Stanley Wade Williamson Jr., 41, revealed his license was revoked nearly three years ago for being a habitual traffic violator. Deputies found the drugs in car.
Williamson also received a citation for driving with a suspended or revoked license. His bond was set at $11,767.

Deputies investigating death of Middleburg woman in St. Johns

PONTE VEDRA BEACH – The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 24-year-old Middleburg woman, whose body was found Sunday morning along State Road A1A near J. Turner Butler Boulevard.
Brianna Jane Gibson’s body was discovered at 4:40 a.m. by a passerby.
St. Johns’ Major Crimes Unit has taken the case. Gibson was last seen Saturday night with her boyfriend. Gibson’s SUV was found in a gated apartment complex in Middleburg, nearly 40 miles away.
The sheriff's office asked if anyone knows about Gibson's whereabouts between 10 p.m. Saturday evening and early Sunday morning to call (904) 824-8304.
