According to the police report, Jimenez shot Tevin Jamaal Hines, 26, eight times in his body.
“There were 2 holes on the upper right arm, 3 holes on the lower right arm, 1 hole in the upper left chest, and 2 holes in the lower left buttocks,” states the CCSO report.

Orange Park-area traffic stop ends in fatal shooting
ORANGE PARK – A Clay County Sheriff’s Office officer-involved shooting is under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
CCSO Public Information Officer Chris Padgett said the shooting occurred sometime after 11 p.m. the night of Feb. 3 during a traffic stop that took place in the 1300 block of Blanding Boulevard.
Patrol deputy William Whitman, the officer who made the stop, called in for police backup, Padgett said. Within minutes, Canine Officer Andy McCrea arrived on the scene. While the unidentified man was being detained, he “brandished a firearm.” CCSO did not disclose the caliber of the alleged firearm.
“Our canine officer stepped back, took action concerning the threat and a fatal shooting occurred,” Padgett said.
The victim was identified Monday as Dylan Joseph Mark Cross, 18, of a Glendale Lane address in the Oakleaf community. Padgett said Whitman has been with CCSO “around 15 years.”
He said the main concern now is for the officers, who were not injured, to meet with the agency’s crisis team to make sure their mental health needs are taken care of.
“So, at this point, we are highly-concerned for the mental health of our deputies who were involved; that’s always something that is very important to us,” Padgett said.
CCSO closed Blanding till around 6 a.m. to conduct the investigation, which is being spearheaded by FDLE, standard practice in officer-involved shootings.
“This is going to be a traumatic and trying time for them. We obviously can’t speak on their behalf, and after notification and things like that are made, we’re obviously going to want to make sure that they’re taken care of and things of that nature because this is something that no family wants to deal with at any time.”
