Green Cove Springs teen caught with child pornography

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – A 19-year-old man was arrested after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted the Clay County Sheriff’s Office it uncovered a video of a man molesting a young boy.
Ernest Sintrel Laster, of Green Cove Springs, was charged on May 4 with possessing, controlling or viewing a depiction of child sexual conduct and with transmitting pornography with an electronic device after detectives found a video of a man abusing a boy on one of Laster’s electronic devices.
According to the sheriff’s office, Laster admitted to watching the video several times during a three-month period that ended in January. He said he got the video from a group chatroom.
Laster’s bond was set at $50,006.

Wanted man caught with more marijuana, fake driver’s license

ORANGE PARK – A Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy who recognized a man with an outstanding warrant wound up uncovering more marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a handgun, AR-15 rifle and a fake driver’s license after he was stopped on May 4 on College Drive.
Jesse Lee Messer, 18, of Orange Park, now faces additional charges with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and using a counterfeit driver’s license after deputies completed an inventory of his car.
He already was facing charges of selling marijuana and using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.
That warrant came after a confidential informant working with the sheriff’s office bought $140 worth of marijuana during a controlled buy on Blanding Boulevard.
Messer’s bond was set at $165,020.
