President’s Day closures

All Clay County government offices will be closed on Monday

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – All County government offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17, in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday.

Closures will include the County Administration Building, Clerk of Court, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, Supervisor of Elections, and Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency Administration Offices.

Offices will reopen and resume normal business hours on Tuesday. Clay County Public Libraries will also be closed on Monday and no materials will be due this day. Libraries will reopen Tuesday, February 18, at 10 a.m.

The Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility will be open normal operating hours (7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) and Advanced Disposal Services will collect wastes and recyclables as usual. Please remember to place materials at the curb before 6 am.

President's Day, also known as Washington's Birthday, is on the third Monday of February each year and is a federal holiday in the United States. The day not only honors George Washington (born Feb. 22), the first President of the United States, and Abraham Lincoln (born Feb. 12), but honors all the presidents who have served in the United States.
