Restrictions, cancellations, postponements caused by COVID-19

As the world continues to react to the coronavirus threat, organizers have been forced to make changes to limit the chances of the virus from being spread.

Listed are events that have been restricted, canceled or postponed in our area. This list will be updated throughout the day, so be sure to regularly check back.

The Emergency Operations Center has activated a call center. Residents with questions can call (877) 252-9362 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The State of Florida Health Department call center can be reached at (866) 779-6121.

 

SCHOOLS

Clay County Schools will be closed through April 15.

Grace Episcopal Day School will remain closed until March 31. The school will create a remote learning plan to conduct classes online.

EVENTS

Clay County Fair, April 2-11, has been canceled. There will be no make-up date. For refund information, contact claycountyfair.org.

All bars and night clubs are closed until further notice.

All Restarants are limited to deliveries and to-go orders - no inside dining - until further notice.

The Young Irelanders concert at Thrasher-Horne Center, March 20, has been rescheduled for Aug. 15.

Broadway’s Hamilton, March 17-29, at the Times-Union Center has been postponed. A makeup date hasn’t been determined.

Hogs for Dogs to benefit the Clay Humane Society on March 21 has been postponed.

St. Johns River Celebration Cleanup scheduled for March 21 has been canceled.

The Sunday Funday at GrayHawk on March 22 has been canceled.

Middleburg Lions club Clay/Vision Golf Tournament on March 27 has been postponed. For more information, call (904) 813-1239.

First Coast Women’s Services’ Denim ‘n Diamonds fundraiser, March 27, has been canceled.

The Girl Scouts of Gateway Council’s annual San Agustin on March 28 has been canceled.

Clay County Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony, on March 28, at the TAPS Monument in Green Cove Springs has been canceled.

Jacksonville Icemen, along with the rest of the ECHL hockey league, have canceled their season.

Michael Buble and British rock band Yes have canceled shows in Jacksonville.  Buble is expected to announce a makeup date.

Clay County Historical and Railroad Museum in Green Cove Springs is closed until further notice.

The Touch-A-Truck at TrailMark on April 2 has been canceled.

The Teen Court Awards Banquet on April 2 has been postponed. It will be re-scheduled.

Island Walk Dental Care's Free Dentistry Day for April 4 has been canceled.

Green Cove Springs Police Department's Easter Egg Hunt on April 4 has been canceled.

The Alzheimer’s Brain Bus visits have been postponed and will be rescheduled.

Spring Session of Adventures in Learning for the Shepherd's Center of Orange Park on April 6 has been canceled. The summer session is scheduled to start on July 6.

Easter Bunny appearances at the Orange Park Mall have been delayed.

Sunrise Service at the Keystone Heights Pavilion has been canceled.

The Golden Years Gala for the Shepherd's Center on May 6 has been rescheduled for Sept. 9.

Orange Park Mall Exotic Driving Experience has been canceled.

Rails-to-Trails Conservatory at Black Creek Park is open for hiking, but the offices will be closed until further notice.

Senior Centers in Orange Park, Middleburg, Keystone Heights and Green Cove Springs have suspended programing and activities. To-go meals still are available Monday-through-Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Easter services at Moosehaven on April 12 have been canceled.

Penney Farms Old Fashioned Farm Day on April 18 has been postponed. No makeup date has been determined.

Rotary Club of Orange Park Gourmet Night on April 21 has been postponed. Plans are to reschedule the event in the fall.

The Senior Expo at Moosehaven on April 21 has been canceled.

Jacksonville Symphony has suspended the following shows: Give My Regards to Broadway, Friday-Saturday; Copland and Ellington, March 19-20; SHIFT: Kennedy Center Bounds, March 20-21; and Peter the Wolf, March 29.

Jacksonville In-Water Boat Show from April 3-5 has been canceled.

CITY, COUNTY

Clay County Supervisor of Elecxtions Office will have restricted access. Anyone wanted to do business at the office in Green Cove Springs must send a request in at least three hours, preferablly a day, in advance. Residents can register to vote and candidates may file for candidacy online.

Clay County Libraries will close from Monday to April 1.

Clay County Extension will suspend all outreach events until April 1.

Clay County Property Appraiser's Office is closed to the public. Business, however, may be done by calling (904) 269-6305.

Green Cove Springs City Council has postponed its regular meeting on March 17 to March 24.

Town of Orange Park all non-essential meetings have been canceled until at least April 1. The next scheduled town council meeting, depending on the virus, is scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 7.

The Middleburg and Keystone Heights Clerk of Court offices will be closed until March 31.

BUSINESSES, PARKS, CLUBS, FACILITIES

The Thomas Hogans Memorial Gym in Green Cove Springs will be closed until at least March 30.

The Dye Clay and Barco-Newton Family YMCAs will close until at least March 30.

All VyStar Credit Union lobbies have been closed. All business must be done in the drive-thru.

Publix markets have reduced its hours, now opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 8 p.m.

ORGANIZATIONS

Clay County Animal Shelter will have limited services. Stray drop-offs and owner surrenders won’t be allowed and owner reclaiming a pet must make an appointment by calling (904) 269-6342.

The Elks Lodge and VFW in Green Cove Springs is closed until further notice.

All Kiwanis Club activities in Keystone Heights have been suspended through the end of March.

COURT

Green Cove Springs red light hearings for March and April have been postponed.

All Baker Act hearings will be done by teleconference from Orange Park Medical Center until further notice.

All Clay County Family Court hearings will be done by teleconference until further notice.
