JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks indoor football team, after a thrilling home win over two-time national champion Arizona last week, traveled to Green Bay and came home with a 75-43 loss in a key division game as both teams enter this week at 7-3 overall. Jacksonville falls to 7-4, Green Bay goes to 8-3.
Former Ridgeview High quarterback Tyler Huff kept up his offensive production for the Sharks with three first half rushing touchdowns; two three yard runs and one from 13 yards, with the game still close at 33-24 for the Blizzard.
The Blizzard rallied for 22 third quarter points to expand their lead with the Sharks getting two scores in the fourth.
Huff finished with 127 yards of passing on 14 of 22 passes with a 19 yarder his longest and was sacked twice. Huff also ran for 68 yards on 10 carries with three scores.
In an Indoor Football League press release, prior to the Green Bay game, the Sharks had the second best offense on the ground with 1,017 yards and also had the IFL's best scoring defense at 35.0 points allowed per game. Huff was cited as "may not have the volume, but his efficiency and ground-game grit keeps defenses honest."
Jacksonville returns home to Jacksonville to host the Quad City Steamrollers who beat Jacksonville 62-41 on April 26. Quad City is 9-2 and leads the Eastern Division with Green Bay second at 8-3 and Tulsa and Jacksonville both at 7-4.
