Sophia Fleming DAR Chapter rated first in Florida

Posted

Each year, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Chapters are rated on areas such as how and when they displayed and honored patriotism, in what ways they preserved history and how they assisted our local schools in education. After everything was tallied this year, Sophia Fleming Chapter placed first in the state of Florida out of 106 others. In July, this chapter will be 15 years in existence and has had the benefit of excellent leadership that has built a solid, strong foundation on which to carry out their objectives. Pictured (from left) are: Chapter Officers 2019-2021: Regent Terreca Hurley, First Vice Regent Barbara Voi, Second Vice Regent Judy Sweep, Chaplain Marguerite Martin, Recording Secretary Barbara Shelnutt, Correspondin Secretary Melissa Herbert, Treasurer Laura Johnson, Registrar Karen Boatright, Historian Carol Westermann, Librarian Ellen Wallwork and Parliamentarian Kay Sibert.
