SANTA FE - Keystone Heights High football showed off a bit of excitable football at their three way spring date at Santa Fe with a 7-0 half game score against Ridgeview and a 14-14 half game score against Santa Fe in spring game action Monday night at Santa Fe High School.

“We ran some good plays; a switch play that looked good,” said Keystone Heights coach Steve Reynolds, who got his first game look as the top guy after replacing Chuck Dickinson. “We’ll look at film and see what was good and what needs work, but we looked okay.”

Offensively, behind a rejuvenated offensive line led by two massive mountains; Tyler Duncan and Bryce Daniels, running back Cartez Daniels had his way on the line of scrimmage with two scores on the night; one a 50 yard scamper against Santa Fe.

“I like running behind Tyler because he is so big,” said Daniels, a 5’-11” prospect, about 210 pounds showing good breakaway speed. “All I need is a little space.”

On the defense, safety Wyatt Van Zant snagged an end zone interception and chose not to down the ball and instead pumped out a 50 yard return to midfield that showed some nifty open field running.

On the quarterback chase, Talon Messina, Trey Jeffries and Jaydon Goodman were menaces in the backfield against Santa Fe; Messina with a 12 yard loss sack against Santa Fe.

One aspect of the Keystone Heights game was an increase in passing options with quarterback Jackson Parmeter, who also scored on a tough plunge from a yard, using quick patterns to move the chains. Parmeter found wide out Darrion Grady downfield with a 35 yard pass play against Santa Fe.
