She was born to the late AD and Reachel Paul in Perryville, AK, on April 10, 1941. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her caring and loving husband of 21 years, John Hallmark; brother, Bill Paul; son, Kevin Sanders, Kenny Sanders, Chuck Hallmark; daughter, Sebrina Hallmark; grandchildren, Kerry, Jacob, Josh, Megan, and Sean; two great grandchildren, Cypress and Edin.

Valerie Ann Daniels, 54, the former Valerie Linder of Mandarin passed away January 1, 2016 after a brief illness.

Valerie, a nurse, is survived by son Nathan Daniels (wife Misty), three grandchildren, Summer, Gabe, Shawn and son Andrew Daniels of Jacksonville, FL, Mother Beth Manes, sisters Cindy Journey, Carolene Drake and Alison Linder, 4 nieces, 4 nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews of Green Cove Springs and Keystone Heights, FL.

We would like to thank UF Health of Jacksonville for the outstanding medical care and compassion shown our family. Valerie was much loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A private family memorial is planned for a later date.

Tajah M. Schroff

Tajah M. Schroff, 27, passed away on December 30, 2015 with her loving mother by her side. Tajah was a bright student who completed high school a year early and attended Case Western Reserve University. She also spent a year abroad studying Ecuadorian culture. Her interests were gardening, learning new languages, reading, and caring for young children.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Justice, and her grandparents, Dr. Robert and LaVerne Smith.

Her memory will be cherished by those who survive her, including, her mother, Jeanne Smith; her father, Kenneth Schroff; her aunts and uncles, Chris (Kerry) Chin, Sandy (Roger) Luder, Lynda (Duane) Willborn, Karl Smith (Lisa) Stauber; her cousins, Meg (Tim), Ryan (Jen), Lindzy (Jason), and Eric; her nieces and nephews; and all the friends whose lives she enriched.

A private memorial will be held to celebrate her abbreviated journey in this world. Let us remember her fondly and lift her up with happy memories.

Anita Paulette Schumacher

Anita Paulette Schumacher, 61, of Middleburg, passed away January 10, 2016. Anita was born March 29, 1954 in Lima, Ohio to the late Paul and Ruth (Barto) Schumacher.

She retired as a senior chief from the United States Navy after 20 years and worked at Walmart for many years after retirement. The Navy was her passion and she loved her pets.

She is survived by her siblings: Carol (Frank) Southfield, Helen (Gary) Holthaus, James (Nan) Schumacher, Dennis Schumacher, Berniece Miller, Karla Coats, Jay Schumacher, William Schumacher, Robert (Kris) Schumacher, Sandi (Jeff) Blunt, and Ed Schumacher, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Ruben Waldon (“R.W.”) Cloud

Ruben Waldon “R. W.” Cloud, 72, of Keystone Heights, passed away Monday January 4, 2015 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness.

He was a native of Bainbridge, Ga. and had been a resident of Keystone Heights for the past 30 years coming from Jacksonville.He was an equestrian trainer, having trained horses and riders. He was an accomplished barrel racer as well as a bowler having won three diamond rings for perfect scores. R.W. loved fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldon and Nellie Lee Cox Cloud and a brother, Farah Cloud.

Surviving are his companion of 17 years, Annie Baucom of Keystone Heights; his adopted family, son, Dwayne Baucom of Green Cove Springs; two daughters, Shellie Baucom and DeLanda Brumby both of Green Cove Springs; one brother, Ira and Debbie Cloud of Middleburg; two sisters, Lucile Robinson of Wisc. and Callimae Gajewski of Buffalo, N.Y. and seven grandchildren, Alissa, Anthony, Austin, Matthew, Michael, Ashley and Jayden.

Services will be at a later date.

Joe Padgett

Joe Padgett, 82, of Starke, Fla., passed away January 6, 2016. Joe was born to Herbert and Maude Padgett on March 5, 1933 in Clay Hill, Fla.

He served proudly in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He was very proud of his military service. After his service in the military, Joe worked in the construction industry his adult life. Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, two sons, Todd and Bruce and brothers, Edwin, Raymond and J.D.

He is survived by his loving wife, Frankie; sons, Leslie (Patsy) and Joe, Jr.; daughters, Pam (Steve), Rhonda (Bobby), Brenda (Ernie) and Judy; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lorene and Frances. A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Long Branch Cemetery. Graveside visitation was one hour prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers were Leslie Padgett, Buster Padgett, Jason Padgett, Joe Padgett, Jr., Steve Belt, Bobby Carter and Skeeter Carey. Raeford Perry Bowen

Funeral services for Raeford Perry Bowen, 94, was held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in the chapel at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL. Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery Orange Park, FL. Raeford was born on February 4, 1921 in Burgaw, N.C.

Through faith he went home to be with the Lord on January 3, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL. Raeford served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corps. He went on to make a career as a Time Keeper with CSX Railroad and retired.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory a son, a daughter, a brother, and many other loving family member and friends. Raeford touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.

William “Bill” Early Griffin Jr.

William “Bill” Early Griffin Jr., 71, of Fleming Island, Fla. passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Mr. Griffin was a native of Petersburg, Virginia and moved to Fleming Island in 1992 from Richmond, VA. While in Richmond, William worked for R.F. & P. Railroad and then was transferred to Florida where he retired from CSX Railroad after an additional 30 years. Mr. Griffin was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve where he served for eight years. He was a man of faith and a member of Hibernia Baptist Church where he was a substitute teacher in Sunday School. William loved the railroad, trains and was even known as a “train chaser” when he would race to the crossing to take pictures of the oncoming trains.

He was an author of several railroad related books and enjoyed attending railroad shows and working with model railroads. In William’s own words, “We Be Rolling Now.”

Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jan Griffin; children, Trey (Lorna) Griffin, Nick (Tiffany) Griffin and Trisha (Chris) Futch; brother, Courtney (Sherrie) Griffin; grandchildren, Sydney, Noel, Branson, Larissa, Lindsey, Baylee, Landry, Brittany, Kelsey, and Erika, and three great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his nephew Clay Griffin.

Memorial Services were held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in Hibernia Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yirka officiating.
