MIDDLEBURG – Safe Animal Shelter of Clay County, announced plans are in full swing for its 29th annual gala to raise funds for homeless animals in their care. Their annual dinner/auction was recently voted "Best Charity Event" in the Best of Clay competition. So you won't want to miss this fun-filled evening to celebrate "There's No Place Like Home" for homeless cats and dogs.

The gala will be on Saturday, Oct. 23.

"The Wizard of Paws" will be held at Thrasher-Horne Conference Center from 5-9 p.m. Music will be provided by Tier 2, dinner will feature delicious food from Chili's, and live and silent auctions will give you plenty of opportunities to shop for treasures for yourself or as gifts for others. Sen. Aaron Bean returns as the auctioneer and will keep the live auction fast-paced and entertaining.

Wizard of Oz attire is encouraged. Tickets are $60 and are available at Safe Animal Shelter at 2913 County Road 220 in Middleburg, or by calling (904) 375-9122 to purchase with a credit card.

Safe Animal can’t wait to say, "We'll see you my pretty. (And your little dog, too)!"
