Despite residents becoming wary of coronavirus, more than 29,000 Clay County residents helped give Joe Biden and President Donald Trump resounding victories in Tuesday’s Florida Primary. Biden won his race with 61.44% of the vote, garnering 6,706 of 10,915 ballots cast by county Democrats. Trump earned 17,745 of 18,579 votes from Republicans. Trump’s Florida victory clinched the Republican nomination for the general election. Statewide, Biden beat Democrat challenger Bernie Sanders by 39.1 points, while Trump easily outdistanced his challengers with 93.8% of the votes.
