In this edition, we talk strange rules regarding alcohol. Did you know Moore County, Kentucky, home of the Jack Daniel Distillery, doesn’t allow standard retail liquor stores or allow sales of hard alcohol in the county? One exception is the Distillery itself, where visitors are allowed to sip samples during a tour, and they can buy commemorative and custom-engraved bottles on the property. In Indiana, it’s illegal to sell cold soft drinks and milk at liquor stores or to sell liquor at grocery stores. In Alaska, you can’t serve alcohol to a moose. You also can’t sell booze on election day until the polls close. Employees and employers aren’t allowed to have a drink after closing hours in Iowa. And Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas and Utah still prohibit sales of hootch on Sundays.
