Henry Wimberly returned to Clay to face homicide charges in DUI crash
GREEN COVE SPRINGS – A Keystone Heights man was transported from Taylor Correctional Institution on Tuesday, July 21, after being accused of killing two people in a DUI-related car crash at State Road 100 and Sunrise Boulevard.
Henry Wimberly IV, 36, was charged with two counts each of negligence manslaughter, negligent deaths in a DUI accident, DUI crash and driving under the influence
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Wimberly was driving north on Sunrise Boulevard on May 28, 2025, when he crashed into another SUV after failing to stop at the SR 100 stop sign.
A man in the other car died on the scene, and one of the other passengers died from their injuries.
He was also cited for driving without insurance and driving with a license tag that wasn't assigned to his vehicle.
Wimberly is being held with a $920,022 bond. His next court appearance will be on Aug. 25.
Orange Park man jailed for having sex and sending videos of a minor
ORANGE PARK – An investigation led the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to charge a 38-year-old man on Wednesday, July 22, for having sex with a minor on Feb. 8, then sending photos and a video with his cellphone to another person.
Xavier Lorenzo Givens, of Orange Park, was being held at the Clay County Jail with a $500,012 bond.
According to an arrest report, statements from the victim and other facts led CCSO to arrest him. Once in custody, deputies found child pornography on his phone and evidence that showed he transmitted to someone else.
Givens was already in jail after being arrested on June 21 for two counts of sexual battery of a child.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 18.
Middleburg man convicted of federal firearms, drug offenses
JACKSONVILLE – A federal jury found James Malcolm Davis, 47, of Middleburg, guilty of possession of methamphetamine and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
Davis faces a maximum of 16 years in federal prison. His sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.
According to evidence presented at trial, on Oct. 31, 2024, as part of an ongoing criminal investigation, Clay County Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on Davis and located a baggie containing methamphetamine in his pants pocket and approximately 40 grams of methamphetamine in his backpack.
Following his arrest, the detectives executed a search warrant for Davis’s camper. Inside were four firearms, more than 1,500 rounds of ammunition, pipes used to smoke methamphetamine and a bulletproof vest. The firearms included a .22 caliber rifle, two semi-automatic assault style rifles and a revolver.
Davis had prior felony convictions, including aggravated assault, felony battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Therefore, he is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law.
The case was investigated by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Cannizzaro.
