Posted

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Alodia “Ludy” Bauzon Bajada Mayang, who took her final bow on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Bolinao, Philippines on February 2, 1954, to Raymundo Lonzaga and Salome Caasi Bauzon Bajada. She attended Bolinao Central School and Binalbagan Catholic High School where she was a cadet in the Reserve Officer Training Corps. She then attended the Philippine Women’s University in Manila for two years and majored in nursing. This is where she would meet her husband, Carlos Hilay Mayang. They married on May 16, 1975 and gave birth to their first child, Maria Teresita Bajada Mayang, born and died on June 10, 1976. Soon after, she and Carlos immigrated to the United States and lived in Mountain View, California near Naval Air Station Moffett Field. She and Carlos then moved to Jacksonville, Florida and permanently resided in Orange Park, Florida where they raised their two daughters, Charlotte and Azela.
Alodia worked as a bank teller and earned a certificate of training from Florida Community College at Jacksonville in 1988. She also became a certified travel agent in 1997. Throughout her life, Alodia’s love for music and dance was evident and she went on to pursue her passion through ballroom dancing. She achieved distinction in ballroom dance, earning multiple “Superior” honors and first-place awards at both regional and international competitions, including the Pro-Am Dance Championship. In addition to being an incredible cook, Alodia loved to garden and was inspired by fashion and people. She cared deeply for others and always supported charitable causes, such as her church and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She loved to brighten everyone’s day and always put others ahead of herself.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos Hilay Mayang; two daughters, Charlotte (Rafael) Musni and Azela (Elvis) Santana; two granddaughters, Ava and Paloma Santana; three brothers, Rafael, Salvador, and Rommel Bajada; and three sisters, Edith Falla, Raylome Bajada and Marie Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two siblings, Bobin Bajada and Emma Ramilo; and her daughter, Maria Teresita Bajada Mayang.
Please join us in celebrating her life Friday, April 3 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (visitation at 1:00 pm) at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32073. Flowers are welcome and the family requests that they be delivered to Jacksonville Memory Gardens prior to the service.
