Barbara Ann Koranda, 84, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away on September 15, 2026.

Barbara was born on August 22, 1942, in Clinton, Iowa, to Gerald and Eleanor McGrath. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Koranda.

Barbara raised five children, Jeff, Jack, Janelle, Jay, and Jennifer, and nothing was more important to her than the people she loved. She cherished time spent together and was happiest sharing conversation, laughter, and everyday moments with her family.

After retiring from the Clay County School District, Barbara continued her commitment to the community as a school crossing guard with the Clay County Sheriff's Office. For 15 years, she proudly served the Oakleaf community, helping look after children and families each day. She took great pride in being part of the Sheriff's Office and treasured the connections she made throughout her years of service.

Barbara had a quiet nature and a caring heart. She enjoyed the laughter and funny moments shared with those closest to her and cared deeply for the people in her life. She will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her family, and the genuine care she showed to others.

Barbara is survived by her children, Jeff, Jack, Janelle, Jay, and Jennifer, as well as her extended family and loved ones.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office will hold a memorial in Barbara's honor at her Oakleaf crossing on September 24, 2026, at 4:15 p.m., recognizing her 15 years of service and the many lives she touched in the community.

A private family gathering will also be held to celebrate Barbara's life and the memories she leaves behind.
