Bryan Scott Martin

Bryan Scott Martin, age 80, was born on September 12, 1944, to Wallace and Vivian Martin. He grew up in a lively home with his brother Wally and sisters Cindy and Susan. To his high school friends, he was simply “Zeke.”
Bryan was a devoted father to Scott, Carling Anne, and Taylor Leigh — each of whom he spoke of with deep pride. His beloved wife, Barbara, was the light of his life and his greatest joy.
Never one to waste a good story, Bryan often told new acquaintances that he had flown with Claire Chennault’s Flying Tigers, was shot down over Burma in 1942, and returned briefly as a dog before beginning this life. Those who knew him understood — the taller the tale, the truer the heart behind it.
He lived a full and joyful life, never missing a chance to share a laugh, tell a story, or make someone feel welcome. He found meaning in the simple, enduring things: time with family, friends, a fishing rod, and his hunting rifle.
Bryan passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, surrounded by his closest family. He had everything he ever wanted. And now, he’s free.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 6th from 2–5 p.m. at Club Continental in Orange Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation in his honor.
