CLAY COUNTY - The Florida Forest Service (FFS) Jacksonville District announced on Friday there will be two prescribed burnings taking place in the county.
Camp Blanding Joint Training Center will conduct an 86-acre burning operation off of Waffle Road; North Florida Land Trust will conduct a 25-acre burning near Christian Camp Road.
Both are for silviculture, which refers to the practice of controlling and managing woodlands, and ecological purposes.
The FFS recommends that anyone in either of the areas to exercise caution.
