Rasheed Nafraud Najim, 21, faces armed carjacking, battery on law enforcement, aggravated battery and resisting arrest after CCSO said Najim got into an occupied car and struck a man with the stick on Nov. 12 in the 300 block of Blanding Boulevard. According to the arrest report, when deputies arrived, Najim tried to run. The first attempt to tase him failed, and after he struck the deputy with the broom handle, they managed to incapacitate him with a second taser deployment.
Najim will be back in court on Dec. 19.
