Want something different than a box of chocolates or a dozen roses for Valentine’s Day? Try one of these unique ways to tell your better half you love them:

• Have dinner and a show with "Be My Baby": Valentine's Review


This one-night-only event will be held at the Spotlight Center in Fleming Island on Feb. 14. Sing along to popular love songs from the 50s and 60s and take a trip down memory lane. The show features one complimentary bottle of champagne per couple, a rose for ladies, appetizers, desserts and a four-course meal. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m. Reservations can be made through Box Office at (904) 375-9547 or spotlighteventscenter.com. 

• Family Date Night at Tough Guys Cookies and Sweets

For a romantic evening treat, the Oakleaf bakery will host a special dessert date for all ages on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14. Sit at a candle-lit table and enjoy one specialty beverage and a selection of specialty sweets. The event will also feature crafts for kids and a family photo provided with your reservation. Packages start at $25. Reservations are required and can be made at toughguyscookies.com/valentine. 

• Dinner at the Hilltop

Have a romantic dinner at the Hilltop Restaurant in Orange Park, featuring an appetizer sampler, soup or salad, an entree and dessert. The event will be on Feb. 14 and 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made at hilltop-club.com.

• Happy Valentine's Day Market

The Sunshine One Connection will host a market on Feb. 8 in Orange Park, featuring sweet treats, goodies, unique handmade gifts, music and floral arrangements. The event will be at 1210 Kingsley Ave. from noon to 5 p.m.

• The VFW 8255 Auxiliary's Valentine's Day Dinner

On Feb. 14, enjoy a special dinner and music by DJ BG, who will be taking requests for your favorite songs. The event will be held at 2296 Aster Ave. in Middleburg.

• KidsX Bestie Bash Valentine's Event

This Besties and Bell Bottoms Dance Party will be held at the Orange Park Mall on Feb. 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The celebration will transport youth back to the 70s with crafts and fun dancing to iconic hits such as “The Funky Chicken,” “YMCA” and "The Robot.”

 Be Mine Valentine's Day Adoption Event

Clay County Animal Services is hosting this pet adoption event at the Middleburg PetSense, 2710 Blanding Blvd., on Feb. 8. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The county wants you to come to find your “four-legged one true love!”
