Clay Chamber and 121 Financial Credit Union introduce free program to educate new business owners

Clay County, Fla. – Business 101 is a free, new program hosted by The Clay County Chamber of Commerce to educate new business owners and individuals looking to startup a business in Clay County.

Presented by 121 Financial Credit Union the six-week program, begins on Jan. 10, 2023 and runs through Feb. 14, 2023. Classes will be held weekly, on Tuesdays, at the Orange Park Public Library (2054 Plainfield Ave.), from 3-4:30p.m. Anyone interested in attending, one or all of the class session, should register at https://business.claychamber.com/events or call the Clay Chamber of Commerce at 904-264-2651.

Taught by Chamber members that own a business or have an area of expertise benefitting business owners, Business 101 participants can expect an overview of the basic requirements for business startup.

Business 101 topics include: understanding legal requirements, writing a business plan, securing financing for your new business, insurance for business owners, marketing and branding your business and bringing it all together.

Class session are:

• Jan. 10 - Legally Establishing a Business in Florida. Taught by Attorney David King.

• Jan. 17- Why is a Business Plan Important? Taught by Katina Phillips, Consultant, Florida Funding $ource, Business Loan and Financing.

• Jan. 24 - Financing Options for your New Business. Taught by Tillery Durbin, Director of Business Lending, 121 Financial Credit Union.

• Feb. 3 - The Right Insurance for Your Business. Taught by Bill Green, Owner of Green Insurance Agency.

• Feb. 7- Business Marketing and Branding. Taught by Stephanie Brinley, owner Flightless and Kate Reeve, owner Communikate Design and Marketing.

• Feb.14- Bringing it all together.
