FLEMING ISLAND – The Special Olympics team from Clay County will host a unique golf tournament fundraiser that will include no golf carts, lost ball searches and plenty of shade with its Aug. 4 fundraiser at the Top of the Tee.
The nine-hole scramble at the Fleming Island Golf Club practice facility with computers will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Funds raised help cover the cost of year-round sports training, competition expenses, uniforms, equipment, transportation and athlete wellness programs – all at no cost to the athlete or their families.
Four-man teams will be playing against the club’s Toptracer Range’s advanced ball tracking technology computers. Toptracer will be set up with famed Pinehurst No. 2, offering all players a different perspective of the course that’s hosted four U.S. Opens and a Ryder Cup and PGA Championship.
To register, or for sponsorship information, scan the barcode on the flier or call Clay County Sheriff’s Office’s Lt. Zach Cox at (904) 445-0521.
