Fleming Island’s Jiang earns degree at Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – More than 6,500 University of Iowa undergraduate, graduate, and professional students received degrees. These Hawkeyes have engaged, excelled and stretched to reach their goals.
Eric Jiang, of Fleming Island, was among the students conferred their degrees. Jiang was a student in the Tippie College of Business whose program of study was Management. The degree awarded was a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Five local students graduate from Maryland Global Campus
ADELPHI, Md. – University of Maryland Global Campus graduated nearly 3,400 students in the 2023 spring semester, including five from Clay County. Students from all 50 states, four U.S. territories, and 22 countries earned UMGC degrees. More than 2,000 graduates attended “Grad Walk,” an in-person experience designed to place the spotlight directly on graduates and their achievements.
The following local students earned degrees:
Christian Irvine of Orange Park – Associate of Arts.
Meghan Kenison of Fleming Island – Bachelor of Arts in Humanities Magna Cum Laude.
Bruce Swygert of Orange Park – Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity Management and Policy.
Samuel Ejiroghene Atebefia of Middleburg – Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management.
Yeniffer Morales Vargas of Orange Park – Bachelor of Science in Health
Services Management.
University of Maryland Global Campus was founded more than 75 years ago specifically to serve the higher education needs of working adults and military servicemembers.

Borge makes Dean’s List at Roger Williams University

BRISTOL, R.I. – Orange Park’s Michael Borge earned a spot on the Dean’s List at Roger Williams University. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits a semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean’s List that semester.
At Roger Williams University, students are prepared to be thinkers and doers ready to solve challenging problems with innovative solutions.

Valdosta State has seven from Clay on Dean’s List

VALDOSTA, Ga. – More than 1,600 students were named to Valdosta State University’s Spring 2023 Dean’s List. This includes the following area residents – Jackson Bull of Fleming Island, Tatiana King, Julia Higdon, Iyanni Felder and Madeline Higdon of Orange Park and Bre’niah Hare and Victoria Ahmadu of Oakleaf.
To qualify for Dean’s List at VSU, students must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Please note that developmental studies, transient, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean’s List status.

Middleburg’s LeClair on McNeese Honor Roll

LAKE CHARLES, La. – The McNeese State University Honor Roll for the 2023 spring semester has been announced. The honor roll lists undergraduate students earning at least a 3.0 or B average while carrying 12 or more semester hours.
McNeese out-of-state students on the Honor Roll included Middleburg’s Richard Cole LeClair.
