FLEMING ISLAND – The Clay County Grants Department is seeking public input for a Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program grant to make improvements at Moccasin Slough County Park.
The county is seeking grant funds for construction of a wetlands boardwalk with associated observation decks at the park, located at 4393 Raggedy Point Rd. on Fleming Island.
Residents can participate by taking a quick survey at www.claycountygov.com/government/grants, attend a town hall meeting at the Fleming Island Library, 1895 Town Center Blvd. or email comments to Clay County Grants Manager Megan Mosely (megan.mosely@claycountygov.com.
The public comment period will end at the close of business on Aug. 12.

Moccasin Slough is a 255-acre park that currently offers a covered pavilion, restrooms, nature trails, playground and eight fitness stations along a shaded, paved path.
