David Richard DeMay

David Richard DeMay, 65, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at 2:40 am surrounded by his family. His last moments were attended by his son Daniel DeMay, daughter Amber Jackson, son-in-law Brock Jackson, brothers Jerry DeMay, and Barry DeMay, and nephew Zachary DeMay.

David was born to parents Kenneth and Betty DeMay, on December 5, 1958, in Orange Park, Florida. He married Tracy Orme, on July 27th, 1977, and had four children. David was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, especially with his brothers and his children. He was a skilled carpenter who owned several construction businesses throughout his life. David was intelligent and skilled at solving complicated mechanical and structural issues, talents and skills he shared with his siblings and passed on to his sons. His craftsmanship and legacy can be found across Middleburg and surrounding areas.

Above all, he was a caring father who truly enjoyed the moments of play and laughter in life surrounded by those he loved. He will be sorely missed and carried on in the hearts of many who are grateful to have shared this life with him.

David is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth William DeMay, and two brothers, Kenneth Micheal DeMay and Robert Allen DeMay. He is survived by his four children, Tara Orme, Amber Jackson, David DeMay, and Daniel DeMay, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving mother, Betty DeMay, sister Leslie DeMay, brothers Barry DeMay, and Jerry DeMay, and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held on Monday, December 16th, at 11 am at Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home at 1811 Idlewild Ave with burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
