Debbie Sutherland (Guthridge), 65, of Orange Park, FL, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, after a courageous health battle.
Born July 29, 1960, in Mt. Lebanon, PA, Debbie was the daughter of a military father and a devoted Girl Scout leader mother. She grew up with strong values, a competitive spirit, and a love for community. Growing up, Debbie enjoyed playing tennis in high school.
Debbie was a hard worker from an early age, holding various jobs and management roles throughout her life. She was respected for her dedication, work ethic, and the care she poured into her job.
In 1992, she married Ray Sutherland, and soon after they welcomed their daughter, T’Nia—Debbie’s pride and joy. Though the marriage ended after many years, the mutual support and love for their daughter remained constant.
Debbie had a big heart, a soft spot for animals and kids, and a gift for offering honest advice with kindness. She was a fiercely loyal friend and a second mother to many. Her warmth and wit made her beloved by friends, coworkers, and anyone lucky enough to know her.
She shared an unbreakable bond with her daughter, T’Nia. The two were true partners in crime—enjoying nail salon outings, binge-watching favorite shows, gardening, and sharing laughs over Mexican food with friends.
Debbie is survived by her daughter T’Nia Sutherland, adopted daughters Alex and Brittney, adopted son Bernard, her sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many cherished friends. She will be remembered for her love, laughter, strength, and generous heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan, and survived by her father, Robert Guthridge.
A celebration of her life will be held on November 8th. All are welcome to attend and share memories.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and dear friend to many and will be greatly missed.
