BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The second-ranked Florida Southern College men's golf team won its 14th NCAA National Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Club on Friday afternoon. The Moccasins defeated Wingate 3-2 to pick up Florida Southern's 31st National Championship, and first since men's golf won in 2017.

Fleming Island High golf graduate Colton Swartz, a junior, was a part of the five-man Florida Southern squad that defeated Wingate with Swartz shooting an even par 72 in his championship match.

Florida Southern took over first place after the first 36 holes of play with Swartz finishing at a 3-under 69 for the Mocs.

In April, Florida Southern won the Sunshine State Conference title, the program's 18th conference title, with Swartz winning the individual title with an 8-under 208 score to capture the first individual title for Florida Southern since 2015.

At the NCAA Nationals, Florida Southern advanced with a 3-2 win over Colorado Christian with Swartz earning points with a 4-under 66 in his matchup with six birdies for the day.

In the semifinal, a 4-1 win over Lee University, Swartz shot a career best of 64 as all Florida Southern golfers shot under par for the win.

For Swartz, who faced off against the top-ranked golfer in NCAA Division II, Drew Zielinski of Lee, a bogey free round and eight birdies got him to his 64-69 winning score. Swartz won 66-72 in his quarterfinal round the day before.

In 2025, Swartz, in his sophomore season, was a PING First Team All America selection and a PING All-South Region as well as the Sunshine State Conference Golfer of the Year and a select on the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team. Florida Southern finished in the Division II quarterfinals last year.
