FLEMING ISLAND - Five interceptions by the Clay High flag football defense; two by Charlotte Andrus, two by Cora Parker, fueled a stingy defense for the Blue Devils who stayed unbeaten with a 13-0 win over Fleming Island on Tuesday, April 1 at Fleming Island High School.

In the Fleming Island vs. Clay game, with a 45 minute lightning delay just before the second quarter was to start, both teams were ineffective on offense in the first quarter with a handful of dropped passes; Clay with their first three passes hitting the ground, prior to the weather delay.
Fleming Island took advantage of the missed pass opportunities of Clay to move to a fourth down with one yard to go in Clay territory, but Fleming Island quarterback Devyn Dudones was short on the play to give the Blue Devils their first big stop of the night.
After the weather delay, Clay fired up their offense with Andrus catching a 10 yard pass and running back Tatum Waugh taking a direct snap into Fleming Island territory.
Clay quarterback Teaghan Moses hit wide receiver Yuliana Garcia on a swift moving drag pass that moved the ball 15 yards with Andrus and Cora Parker both catching passes to put Clay in scoring position.
From six yards out, Garcia again took a drag pass under the Fleming Island linebackers; Daisy Fletcher and Emily Poucher, then did her best Billy Sims moves to paydirt beating Fletcher to the pylon with 5:24 left in the half.
Waugh rumbled in for the PAT with a quick dump pass from Moses to put the game at 7-0.
Garcia almost got an interception on a tall pass to Fleming Island wide receiver Seven Gourdet that gave Gourdet a second chance on a 19 yard pickup two plays later.
Two misses by Dudones forced a long pass attempt to Poucher in front of Andrus with Andrus taking the overthrown toss for her first interception.
Clay got to the four yard line before Gourdet broke up a toss to Parker by the end zone pylon to end the half.
On a fourth down pass near the Fleming Island 30, Parker rolled in front of a lofted pass to Gourdet for her first interception that came with a run just inside the 40 yard for the Blue Devil start, but Moses fumbled a third down snap to stall the drive and force a punt.
Aided by a personal foul flag on Clay rusher Lily Kalil who bashed into Fleming Island running back Audrey Ellis like Ray Lewis, Fleming Island tried to move quickly with Dudones finding Gourdet behind the Clay secondary for a 30 pass play to inside the Clay 20 but pass defense by Parker and Waugh; Waugh a near pick, got an incomplete fourth down pass in traffic.
Clay stalled after passes to Parker and Waugh giving Fleming Island a start at the 20 after a Poucher punt return, but Garcia stepped in front of Gourdet for an interception.
Moses finally got the green light to get passes to speedster Kirra Dodson, who had been quiet all night, with Dodson using her speed to put Clay inside the Fleming Island 20, but Fleming Island rusher Loreanis Maysonet caught Moses on fourth down.
In a matter of  minutes, Andrus got her second interception that quickly turned into a direct snap touchdown rumble by Waugh from six yards out and a 13-0 Clay lead with just 1:25 on the clock.
Clay loosened a bit on defense to prevent a long pass, but Parker stopped the momentum with her second interception with 10 seconds on the clock.
