Here’s a list of adult-friendly events for the rest of 2025:
MOSAIC TILES will be on Nov. 6 from 6-7:30 p.m. Create colorful designs and patterns with the glass mosaic tile program. This event is intended for adults ages 18 and up.
MONTHLY BOOK CLUB will be on Nov. 8 from 10-11 a.m. This discussion will be geared toward “The Amish Wife” by Gregg Olsen. Registration is optional.
CHESS CORNER will be on Nov. 12 from 6-7:30 p.m. This will be a self-guided, open play space for all skill levels and ages. Boards will be available.
CLAY COMMUNITY JAZZ BAND CONCERT will be on Nov. 15 from 1-2 p.m. All are welcome to join in on the toe-tapping, finger-snapping fun.
ART WITH HEAT AND INK: SCORCHED BOOKMARKS will be on Nov. 17 from 6- 7 p.m. Make a custom wooden bookmark, no fire required. Registration is required. This event is for adults 18 and up.
WRITERS GROUP will be on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Hosted by the Florida Writers Association, writers 18 and up will hear from children’s book author and poet Shutta Grum, who will be covering a variety of topics to inspire writers on their creative journeys. Gain networking opportunities, skill development, inspiration and access to resources.
MONTHLY BOOK CLUB will be on Dec. 13 from 10-11 a.m. This discussion will be geared toward “The Paris Apartment” by Lucy Foley. Registration is optional.
JANE AUSTEN’S BIRTHDAY TEA will be on Dec. 13 from 3:15-4 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Fleming Island Library and the Fleming Island Garden Club, the event invites guests to celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th birthday with a Regency-era tea. Registration is required and will open on Nov. 29.
3D PAPER GLOB ORNAMENTS will be on Dec. 15 from 2- 3:30 p.m. During this fun craft program, attendees will be guided through making 3D globe ornaments out of paper. No registration is needed, and teens ages 13 and older are welcome.
CHAIR YOGA will be on Dec. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Specialized yoga instructors with the Christina Phipps Foundation will offer this class, guiding members of the cancer community, those with limited mobility and family members through a gentle routine. No registration is needed, and all abilities are welcome.
PAINTED NIGHTS ON WOOD SLICE will be on Dec. 20 from 10-11 a.m. In this painting program, attendees are invited to transform wood slices into masterpieces depicting the Northern Lights. Registration opens on Dec. 6.
GREETING CARD GIFT BOXES will be on Dec. 23 from 1-2 p.m. Attendees are invited to create holiday greeting cards by cutting the cards and gluing the card into a box shape. Registration opens Dec. 9.
DECORATIVE HANGING SNOWFLAKES will be on Dec. 31 from 10-11 a.m. Attendees are invited to create decorative snowflakes by cutting, twisting and taping paper together. Registration opens Dec. 17.
The Fleming Island Library is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is closed on Sundays. For more information call (904) 278-3720.
