CLAY COUNTY – Four county elementary schools will get free STEM Modules from the Nolan Carroll Foundation.
The Nolan Carroll Foundation donated third-grade National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center STEM educational modules to classes to Clay Hill Elementary, Grove Park Elementary, S. Bryan Jennings Elementary and Swimming Pen Creek Elementary. At least 120 students will engage in the STEM fun learning curriculum.
“It was such a pleasure to see the teacher’s excitement to receive these STEM modules, it was as if Christmas came early for their classroom. I love learning and hope that the fun learning engagement the kids will have while participating in the STEM activities will excite their passion for learning.” said Nolan Carroll, president of the Nolan Carroll Foundation.
The Nolan Carroll Foundation’s mission is to support Science Technology Engineering and Math educational opportunities, job skill training and to promote and encourage physical activities for underprivileged and at-risk youths.
The foundation carefully selects educational and physical activity programs that it can support financially and will consider the grant program a partnership with these organizations. With this mission, the Foundation will broaden the horizons and increase opportunities for underprivileged and at-risk youths for them to break the cycle of poverty, achieve their greatness and help improve their quality of life.
Carroll graduated from Clay High and played cornerback at Maryland. He was drafted by the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. He also played with the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles before retiring in 2017.
Nolan was the recipient of the 2016 Ed Block Courage Award, which honors players who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. Recipients are selected by their teammates for exceptional courage, great character and inspiring effort.
