CLAY COUNTY – Several buildings across Clay County have been donned in green lights as part of the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers’ “Operation Green Light.”

The TAPS Monument in the Historic Triangle in Green Cove Springs, the Clay County Courthouse and Administration Building joined the Orange Park Senior Center in going green for those who have, or who still are, serving in the military.

The program will run through Nov. 13.

According to the county, the goal was to let veterans know they are seen, appreciated and supported. In Clay County, pride for the country and respect for our veterans runs deep. This county-wide movement brought our cities and local government together to create an unmistakable show of support for the men and women who dedicated their lives to our freedoms.

The county encourages everyone in our county to join in. Display a green light outside your home or business this week through Veterans Day. When you pass one of the lit buildings, pause for a moment and remember our nation's heroes and the incredible service and sacrifice they have made.
