JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Jaguars will soon be packing up and heading to Orlando next year following the approval of a one-year stadium lease with Florida Citrus Sports on Tuesday.
During the 2027 NFL season, the team will be playing home games at Camping World Stadium in Orange County, which has a total capacity of 50,000 seats. EverBank Stadium will undergo construction and be reimagined into the Stadium of the Future, with renovations expected to be completed in time for the 2028 season.
The lease was approved by the league's 32 owners during the NFL'S 2026 Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.
In a statement posted to jaguars.com, Jaguars owner Shad Khan said the scenario is a win that everyone can celebrate.
"We're also grateful to the team at Florida Citrus Sports that made this solution a reality that will benefit all, including Jaguars fans just a few hours away in Jacksonville," he said.
Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steven Hogan said the opportunity will be a major milestone for Orlando, allowing for a first-class fan experience and further elevation of the city's standing as a host for major sporting events.
Orlando previously hosted the MLS All-Star Game, as well as the FIFA World Cup and the NFL Pro Bowl. The city has also made a bid to host the 2030 NBA All-Star Game. Camping World Stadium specifically has hosted the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, Pop-Tarts Bowl, Cure Bowl and Florida Classic.
Seating for the 2026 home games at EverBank Stadium will be limited capacity.
