Sen. Rob Bradley speaks to an audience of NFIB members and small business owners Tuesday afternoon at the Fleming Island Town Hall Events Center in an event organized by the Florida NFIB. Also in attendance were northeast Florida representatives Jay Fant and Jason Fischer.
"Our purpose is to connect small business owners with their policymakers," said Florida NFIB Executive Director Bill Herrle. "This year's legislative session ended with what we consider a mixed bag of results."
The three lawmakers present spoke at length about Worker's Compensation benefits and their continued efforts to reduce the impact of litigation against small businesses. In addition to that, the legislators were thanked for cuts to rent tax achieved in their proposed budget.
The budget is currently through the state House and Senate and is waiting on the approval of Governor Rick Scott, who could approve, change, or veto the budget.
It has been rumored that a special session is already in the works with the expectation that Scott will veto the budget in protest of a bill that would defund Enterprise Florida.
