KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – While many arrived empty handed to the Women's Club of Keystone Heights on March 10-12, they surely left with their hands full during this year’s Say to the Dress.
The annual three-day event was an opportunity for members of the community to stop by and sift through fancy attire for free.
Held in support of the Keystone Heights High's Community Partnership Schools, the event featured various gently worn dresses and accessories in every size. Men's clothing, as well as some shoes, were also available.
The event has been known to be an alternative to the usual expenses, especially with students. A lot of this year’s donated items were brand new, with the tags still intact.
Prior to the event’s 2 p.m. start on the first day, Women’s Club Treasurer Janice Goetzman said the line was stretched far beyond the front door. Once inside, guests were treated to an assortment of delicate wears and friendly faces, as well as light snacks.
In addition to the upcoming prom, many of this year’s attendees came in search for clothing items for dances, dinner parties and the club’s upcoming “A Night in Paris” Mom Prom, which will be held on April 18.
More than 33 dresses were given away during the event’s first two hours on Tuesday.
