TAMPA - University of Tampa sophomore outside hitter Connor Rahn was named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8 for the first time in her career.
Rahn is a graduate of Middleburg High and was instrumental in the school's first-ever state championship win in 2024.
Rahn led Tampa to a 3-0 opening weekend at their home invitational, following 38 kills over 10 sets and a .438 hitting percentage. The Orange Park native began the season with five kills on 16 attempts in a sweep of RV Lander on Sept. 5. She followed with 13 kills on 21 attempts in a 3-0 win against Emmanuel, and 20 kills in 43 attempts in four sets against 24th-ranked Findlay on Sept. 6.
Rahn averaged 3.8 kills and 1.70 digs per set last week, while also providing her team with two service aces, two assists and a solo block.

Tampa is currently 10-0 with a Sunshine State Conference 3-0 win over Saint Leo on Sept. 23, as teams start conference play. Tampa won with games of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-18.
Tampa set the tone early, racing to a 10–4 lead in the opening frame behind kills from Tess Schrenger and Connor Rahn. Rahn had six kills, eight digs and one solo block.
The Spartans' efficient offense (.310 hitting percentage overall) kept Saint Leo under pressure, while their defense collected 57 digs to deny the Lions second chances.
For the season, Rahn has played in all 10 games with 109 kills averaging 3.6 per set, scoring 121 points for Tampa to lead the team. Rahn's best games were a 20-kill night against Findlay, a 3-1 win with 16 kills against Florida Southern and 15 kills against 19th-ranked West Florida—all wins for Tampa.
Tampa won NCAA titles in 2006, 2014, 2018 and 2021. The team has 20 NCAA South Region titles dating back to 1988, and as recent as 2023. They also have 29 Sunshine State Conferences dating back to 1983, and as recent as 2023. The team record last year was 26-5 with a 3-2 loss in the South Region championship game to Lynn University. With games tied at 2-2, Lynn won the fifth game 15-13 to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
