Posted

MIDDLEBURG – Officials are investigating a fire Friday at the Hunter's Run Apartments on Blanding Boulevard. The initial cause appears to be children setting off fireworks. Clay County Fire Rescue responded to the apartment building, evacuated the residents, and quickly controlled the fire. However, the fire caused extensive damage to several apartments, and six families were displaced. The Red Cross is helping those families. In Florida, fireworks are only permitted on July Fourth, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal are investigating.
