OAKLEAF—On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Oakleaf Village Elementary students and faculty participated in a "Walk and Roll to School Day" to celebrate the benefits of walking and bicycling.
Starting at 7:30 a.m., teachers and staff joined the young children on their stroll. After arriving at the school, the students were welcomed with refreshments, goodies and a warm hello from many, including the Clay County Fire Department, the Clay County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Transportation.
Oakleaf High's Drum Line also made a special appearance, with uniformed football players and cheerleaders standing by to sign autographs.
The event also featured healthy living resources from the American Heart Association, The Flame Broiler, a Clay County District Schools Dietician and Health and Wellness Coordinator and Elevate Fitness Orange Park.
