ORANGE PARK– Longtime tenant Books-A-Million will be turning the page on a new story sure to bring an expanded shopping experience for all, the Orange Park Mall announced on Friday.

The store will soon undergo a transition into 2nd & Charles, an entertainment retail concept offering an ever-changing inventory of new and used books, music, games, toys, collectibles, décor, accessories, pop culture merchandise and more.

The new store will occupy the same 21,315-square-foot space and is expected to open later this year following a temporary closure of the existing Books-A-Million location at the end of May.

A sister store to Books-A-Million, the nation’s second-largest book retailer, 2nd & Charles has established itself as a hip, fun-loving purveyor of passions catering to readers, gamers and collectors of all ages. Since its first store opened in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2010, 2nd & Charles has expanded to include more than 40 stores in 18 states and counting.

Known for its buy, sell and trade model, 2nd & Charles will offer Orange Park Mall visitors the opportunity to discover new and pre-owned merchandise across a wide range of entertainment and pop culture categories. Through the store’s buyback program, customers can sell their gently used merchandise in exchange for cash or store credit, creating a dynamic, discovery-driven experience for readers, collectors, gamers and pop culture enthusiasts alike.

“Orange Park Mall continues to evolve with retailers and experiences that reflect the interests and lifestyles of our community,” said Randy Bowman, General Manager of the Orange Park Mall. “We look forward to continuing to serve book lovers while introducing an expanded mix of entertainment categories at 2nd & Charles. Their discovery-driven model creates a fun and fresh shopping experience that reinforces our vision as a family-friendly destination where there is truly something for everyone.”

The transition supports Orange Park Mall’s ongoing retailer evolution and experiential retail strategy, which focuses on bringing engaging concepts to the property while continuing to serve families that have visited for generations.

Additional details, including grand opening plans, will be announced at a later date.
