Orange Park fills committee positions

ORANGE PARK – The Town Council appointed chair and vice chair positions to Town Committees during its Tuesday night meeting.

For Culture and Recreation, Councilman Doug Benefield will serve as Chairman, and Mayor Randy Anderson will be Vice-Chair. For the Economic and Community Development Committee, Councilwoman Winnette Sandlin was appointed as Chair and Councilman Daniel Cobreiro will be Vice-Chair.

Vice Mayor Susana Thompson will lead the charge as Chair of the Community Development Committee, while 

Cobreiro will follow up as Vice-Chair.

Anderson will serve as Chair for Finance and Budget, with Thompson taking the post of Vice Chair.

Each official will serve a term until May 21, 2024.

New members were also designated for the Planning and Zoning Board, Environmental Quality Board and Historic Preservation Board via votes from the council that appointed residents to the seats. Each resident brings qualifications and experience to the table, and the Town Council unanimously approved the new role of each individual, 5-0. 

The Town welcomed Benjamin Couch to Seat 3 and Alex Hawkins to Seat 5. Then, for the Environmental Quality Board, George Niles was appointed to serve as a Seat 3 Board Member for the Planning and Zoning Board.

Kenny Radwanski was appointed as a Board Member of the Historic Preservation Board.

Each appointed official will also serve until May 21, 2024, except for Hawkins, who will serve until May 20, 2025.
