GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Join paranormal author and researcher and Ghost Hunt Weekends President Chad Morin and special guest presenter Kyl Cobb, a historian, paranormal author and demonologist, for a ghost hunt at the Old Clay County Jail and Courthouse on Jan. 6. The Travel Channel’s “Haunted Towns” hosts Mike Goncalves and Chris Smith will join the search for activity.
One of the oldest jails in the state of Florida, it closed its doors in 1972. It boasts at least five hangings in the courtyard, and it is believed to be a source of significant paranormal activity is a direct result of those deaths and hardships from life inside this hideous location.
Disembodied voices, cell doors banging and moving independently, and unseen hands are known to grab and touch visitors.
This will be a multiple-location event, including the Old Clay County Jail, the Grounds where the executions took place, the History Museum, Old Rail Road Station and the Old Clay County Courthouse.
The night starts with VIP ticket holders entering early at 5 p.m., while general ticket holders can enter at 6 p.m. The tour starts at 7:30 p.m. and ends at midnight.
