Man ‘remorseful’ after CCSO finds child pornography on his phone

MIDDLEBURG – A 24-year-old man showed remorse after Clay County Sheriff’s Office investigators said they found child pornography on his cellphone on May 3.

Galen Kimble Wright, of Middleburg, was charged with transmitting harmful material to a minor, soliciting a minor for unlawful sexual conduct and using his cellphone to facilitate a felony after investigators processed information and obtained an investigative subpoena to search his online records. Investigators visited Wright at his home on Sept. 10, and he agreed to talk about the claims.

During questioning, Wright said he was remorseful, according to the arrest report.

His bond was set at $750,009, and his next court date was set for Oct. 27.

Dumpster-diver charged after deputy finds drugs in her car

ORANGE PARK – A woman who said she was dumpster diving behind a bargain outlet store was arrested on Aug. 10 when a Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy found fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside her car.

Lois Jeanette Weyandt, 43, of Middleburg, was booked into the Clay County Jail with a bond of $32,511 after the deputy uncovered burnt foil, straws, 1.51 grams of fentanyl, .67 grams of methamphetamine and a .35 gram of a cocaine rock inside her purse and her car.

Weyandt’s next court date was set for Sept. 24.
